AIDA TWO STAR FREEDIVING COURSE
Course Option A: 23rd April (theory and pool), 24th April (sea dives)
Course Option B: 14th May (theory and pool), 15th May (sea dives)
This course is designed to be an introduction to freediving for students who are already confident and happy in the water, helping students develop the skills and knowledge necessary to enjoy freediving safely. It is a natural progression of from the AIDA 1 star course, or a good starting point for those with previous diving background or who feel at ease in the water. It covers the same topics as AIDA 1 star course but more detailed and advanced. With more advanced techniques and performance, there are new risks and responsibilities the diver must learn to be safe in the water.
Basic course outline:
Maximum depth 20 metres – minimum 16 metres
This course covers more knowledge development, and is taught to the standards required, this takes 3 ½ – 4 hours. There is also an exam which takes 20 minute an hour depending on ability. It can be either taught in 1 long session, or in 2-4 sessions.
Static session/ Dynamic session.
This can be taught together in the pool. We should allow at least 2 hours for this session. The second day of training will consist of 3 Open water sessions from a boat.
Course price is 2250 DHS per person, and includes training, student manual, boat dives and certification.
It does not include equipment. I do have some equipment for rent (masks and long fins, sizes 45-46 and 41-42).
Equipment is rented out at 30dhs a day for fins, 20dhs a day for masks.
All dives and training will take place at Divers Down in Khor Fakkan (East Coast).
