The AIDA ** free diver course is an introduction into the thrilling world of Snorkelling and Freediving. It is a basic freediving course designed to cover the necessary skills and knowledge for a non-competitive recreational freediver to safely freedive with or without a guide line. It is aimed at students who are already confident snorkelling and freediving and who would like to increase their freediving depth range to a maxim…um of 3 ATA (20 metres).
The course material is designed is to familiarize the student with the skills, knowledge, equipment, safety procedures and buddy techniques, problem management, hazards and enjoyment of freediving. Students will be introduced to the basic disciplines of freediving; Static Apnea, Dynamic Apnea and Constant Weight freediving.
The Confined Water sessions are aimed at teach breathing, relaxation, and finning and safety techniques. In the Open Water sessions the student will use the skills they have learned in the pool sessions and will combine these with the basic skills of Open Water freediving such as equalizing, duck diving, vertical swimming, body positioning

September 27, 2010 Monday 6pm classroom
September 28, 2010 Tuesday 6pm pool
September 29, 2010 Wednesday 6pm exam
October 1, 2010 Friday Al Aqah, Fujeirah all day
Price of course: AED 2,430
This is all inclusive (materials, DAN insurance; boat rides and certification card). Students need to attend all modules to complete the course.
Free diving equipment is required for best performance. This should include the following items:
1) Wetsuit with hood, neoprene socks and gloves (gloves are optional, hood is recommended)
2) Long free diving fins
3) Snorkel and low volume mask (Cressi SuperOcchio recommended)
4) Rubber weight belt
If you do not have any Free diving equipment you can rent some from me or alternatively come in to view the selection from Cressi at Al Boom
