Divasindubai was created to provide information on scuba diving and freediving lessons in the UAE or anywhere in the Middle East. I am Sara-Lise. I am an EDA (Emirates Diving Association) registered independent instructor, teaching PADI and AIDA courses. Women-only groups are my specialty but men and women are welcome to learn. I also offer travel experiences for scuba and freediving and more information can be found in the website.
Check out the courses page to see information on scuba and freediving courses, which are designed to provide dive training in a professional, comfortable environment. Classes can be taught in groups or one-on-one personal training. Freediving classes are offered for everybody and women-only groups can be arranged.
I have been a certified PADI diving instructor since May 2001, and received my certification in the Republic of Maldives. I have so much passion for the sea, and marine life. It is scary to see how much this precious environment is in such jeopardy.
I have been swimming since I was 2 years old and taught my first “student” how to swim when I was just 10. I also write for Deeperblue.com and I am the News Editor. I reside in the UAE and enjoy the lifestyle of a lifetime provided by the fantastic, fast-moving and spectacular Dubai.
I have been freediving since 2002 and became an instructor in March 2007. The courses I teach are AIDA (International Association for the Development of Apnea) courses. I came forth in the Faz’za Freediving Championships in Dubai 2007 and 2009, and was the only female participant. I have also worked as a full-time instructor in Maldives and the Cayman Islands and now teaches part-time in the UAE.
The initial concept behind Divas in Dubai was to bring more women in the UAE into the diving world. The predominantly male diving environment may usher some women away, due to cultural or personal reasons. Divas in Dubai encourages women to participate in diving offering them women-only groups of training and the opportunity to have their share of enjoyment of the fantastic underwater realm.
